RUTH SNYDER - Author Media Kits

AUTHOR MEDIA KITS

What is in your kit and how you present yourself will influence how professional you look.  Ruth is an excellent resource and speaker on this topic.

Ruth L. Snyder was privileged to spend the first 10 years of her life in southern Africa where her parents served as missionaries. From there her family moved to Canada, settling in Three Hills, Alberta. Ruth enjoyed her years as a "staff kid" at Prairie and is grateful for the biblical grounding she received there. She now resides close to Glendon (the pyrogy capital of Alberta, Canada) with her husband and five young children. Ruth enjoys writing articles, devotionals, short stories, and Christian fiction. She is a member of The Word Guild and The Christian PEN. Ruth currently serves as the President of InScribe Christian Writers' Fellowship.

Ruth's children have taught her many things about living with special needs. She is a strong advocate and spent several years serving on the local public school board.

Ruth loves her job teaching Music for Young Children. She is fascinated by children's imaginations and enjoys helping young children learn the basics of music through play.

In her spare time, Ruth enjoys reading, crafts, volunteering in her local community, photography, and travel. Several years ago, Ruth and her family traveled through 28 States in 30 days! Find out more about Ruth and her writing at http://ruthlsnyder.com

BRAD DOERKSEN - Writing so People Want to Read

WRITING SO PEOPLE WANT TO READ

Brad brings depth and light to the subject of your writing and why people will be drawn to read it.  Whatever your type of writing you can benefit from Brad's wisdom drawn from editing, publishing, reading, marking academic papers or his breadth of knowledge as a librarian and college instructor.

BRAD IS HEAD LIBRARIAN AT ARCHIBALD LIBRARY

Biography

Brad is a prairie boy, born and raised in Manitoba, though he has lived and studied in all four western provinces. Having worked in the Archibald Library since 2001, he likes the diversity that his job brings; from book selection and collecting statistics to managing a budget, changing light bulbs, and sorting books, no two days are ever the same in the library. He enjoys helping students learn, whether it's the history of Christianity, how to find information in the library, or doing better research. Brad is also grateful for the opportunity to be actively involved in the life of a local church. He's an avid fan of hockey and football (go Jets and Bombers), and enjoys cycling and canoeing.

Research Interests

Brad's primary research interests relate to the history of Christian life and thought. He has studied the ways Jonathan Edwards's writings on revival were used by both supporters and detractors of the Toronto Blessing. He also has an interest in the various ways Christians responded to the aftermath of Constantine's conversion.
